Custom PCs & repairs · Guilderland, NY

Stop buying someone else's compromise.

Not all prebuilt PCs are equal. Big-box systems can look like a bargain, but they hide compromises that hold back performance and future upgrades.

Tell us what you play, create, or need fixed. We’ll choose compatible, name-brand parts around what you actually need, build and test the system locally, and show you exactly what you’re paying for.

04 — Straight Answers

Questions worth asking.

Is a prebuilt actually cheaper than a custom build?

Sometimes at the sticker — but rarely over the life of the machine. Prebuilts hit a price by cutting where you can't see it: the power supply, the motherboard VRMs, the cooler. Those are exactly the parts that decide whether you can upgrade in three years or start over. You'll see every part and every price before anything is ordered, so you can decide where the money goes.

How long does a build take?

Assembly is the fast part. The timeline is driven by parts availability — once everything is on the bench, the build, OS install, updates and burn-in testing are wrapped up quickly. You'll get a realistic window when the parts list is approved, and an update if anything shifts.

Can you fix a computer you didn't build?

Absolutely — that's a big part of the work. Desktops, laptops, prebuilts from any brand, and machines built by someone else. Diagnostics come first: you get told what's actually wrong and what it will take to fix, before any work starts.

Do I get to pick the parts?

Yes. You get an itemized list with real part numbers, and nothing is locked in until you sign off. Have a brand you trust, a case you love, or a GPU you're bringing over from your old rig? Say so — it gets designed around that.

What about the parts warranty?

Every component that is bought new comes from authorized retailers and carries its own manufacturer warranty in your name — a real advantage over prebuilts, where a single failed part can mean shipping the whole tower away. If something does fail, you've got a local person who knows exactly what's in the box — and knows how to fix it.

Prefer to just talk it through? Call or text and describe what you're after in plain English — “I want to play Warzone at 144 fps” is a perfectly good starting spec.
